One manuscript, one file. Word, EPUB or PDF.

Compile

File > Export (Cmd Shift E) takes every document in the manuscript that is marked include in compile and turns it into one file.

• Format: DOCX, EPUB or PDF.
• Preset: Manuscript is double spaced with a title page, the way agents, editors and examiners ask for it. Ebook flows for a reader.
• Author and contact go on the title page.
• Scene break is what appears between scenes inside a chapter. # by default.

Folders become chapters and their titles become chapter headings. Documents inside a folder run together, separated by the scene break.

The defaults for all of this live under Project settings > Compile, so a project remembers how it likes to be exported.

What is not included

Research, notes and documents with include in compile switched off. The manuscript/ folder inside the project is a separate thing: a Markdown copy of every document for reading, not a compile.
